Creating a Space of Relaxation and Freedom

With pure space as the backdrop and combining natural elements, the Shenzhen Seven Star Bay Yacht Club hotel design by Yueming Qin emphasizes the truth and beauty of art and highlights extraordinary display. The design takes inspiration from the ocean and marine sports, incorporating sculptures, artifacts, and hanging pictures that vitalize the space with flexibility and freedom, echoing the sporty style of the hotel. Bamboo finishes, bamboo lamps, and flower arrangements in Zen style create a touch of leisure and elegance, in harmony with the surrounding greenery.

The main materials used in the design include white latex paint, bamboo veneer, gray mirror, and stone. The interior design, furnishings design, and lighting design were meticulously considered to create a space that promotes relaxation and tranquility. The design team, led by principal designer Yueming Qin, controlled the rhythm of the entire space by managing the proportion of different spatial relationships. By abandoning multifarious elevations, they restored the space's essence in the most concise way possible.

The Shenzhen Seven Star Bay Yacht Club hotel design offers guests a clean, pure leisure space that is far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The natural and comfortable furniture, combined with the ornamentation of artwork, provides a sense of calm and invites guests to unwind. The design not only caters to guests preparing for yacht activities but also offers a place for the public to enjoy leisure time by the seaside.

Completed in 2015 in Shenzhen, China, the design project faced challenges such as a limited budget and the need to control the exterior form while still achieving the design goals. The team carefully analyzed the importance of different functional spaces in creating the desired atmosphere and enhancing guests' experience, while also considering cost constraints. Additionally, the unique geographical location required careful consideration of transportation costs and construction convenience.

The Shenzhen Seven Star Bay Yacht Club hotel design received the Bronze A' Design Award in 2017 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
